(Chocolate) Cake Finishing & Decorating!

In this super fun class…

You will learn classic, simple and not-so-simple techniques on how to finish, garnish, decorate and serve the perfect cake. We discuss and demo ways to trouble shoot issues of baking, but the primary focus of this class is finish work. Included in the class handout are many of our favorite cake, filling and frosting recipes.

Each participant will start with their choice of white or dark chocolate cake layers and a variety of fillings and together we will build the foundation skills of torting, damming, crumb coating (have I lost you, yet?!?) – you get the idea! We start with the basic construction, and from there we move into exquisite finishes that will make you look and feel like a rock star when you take your 8″ masterpiece home. This is a great class for those that already know how to bake, but would enjoy learning more about decorating. Many of the skills you will learn in this class can be applied to many other baked goods and pastries. Cake… is only the beginning!

Due to the planning and set-up of this class, early registration is crucial. Late sign-up will not be allowed and registration will end for this class on Thursday, February 23rd, and a minimum of 5 participants is needed to conduct this class – please sign-up early.

As with many of our baking/chocolate classes, we focus on methodology using only a handful of basic, high quality ingredients. Learn simple techniques that will ensure your dessert success time and time again.

In the event this class is canceled because we do not meet the minimum registration requirement, you will be contacted no less than 24 hours before the scheduled class start and a full refund for store credit or a future class of choice based on availability will be issued back to you. For participants – a minimum of 48 hrs is requested for cancellation and a full refund for store credit or a future class of choice based on availability will be issued back to you.
